tomorrow is my birthday. is it sad that i am more looking forward to saturday? it is always weird spending holidays away from family. even tho i have tons of friends here, birthdays just aren't the same without a birthday dinner at grandma's and my family singing happy birthday. 22 isn't a big deal, but i guess i am just beginning the understand that the more birthdays you have, the less they begin to matter.
---------------------------------------------
I wish I had what I needed
To be on my own
'Cause I feel so defeated
And I'm feeling alone
And it all seems so helpless
And I have no plans
I'm a plane in the sunset
With nowhere to land
And all I see
It could never make me happy
And all my sand castles
Spend their time collapsing
Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough
It's my birthday tomorrow
No one here could know
I was born this Thursday
And I feel stuck
Watching history repeating
Yeah, who am I?
Just a kid who knows he's needy
Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough

This made me sad. I think when you open your presents you will be glad. I love you. And 22 years ago I was in labor with you and it hurt like nothing else. but i was so happy that I was in labor because you see you were actually due on May 24, you my dear were late, which is very unlike you. Seeing you for the first time made me forget all the pain and 9 months of throwing up and feeling like I would never be able to eat again. You were so beautiful, hairy and gave me more joy than I can express. You still do bring me joy are beautiful and luckily are not nearly as hairy. I love you more today than I did that morning 22 years ago when you first came into this world so fresh from you Heavenly Father. You have made us both proud. Have a terrific birthday Boo Boo.
So I just found your blog, (after commenting "Happy Birthday" on your facebook) and wanted to tell you that "Let that be enough" is pretty much one of my favorite Switchfoot songs ever. I remember liking that song before I even know who they were. Thank you for reminding me of it...
